Bible Verses about 'Messiah'

For this day in the city of David there has been born to you a Savior who is Christ, the Lord. For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
“But you,” he said to them, “who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
And every day, both in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming Jesus as the Christ.Every day, in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and preaching Jesus, the Christ.
The birth of Jesus Christ occurred in this way. When his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came to live together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: After his mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
But I have had help from God to this very day, and I stand here and testify to both the lowly and the great. I assert nothing more than what the Prophets and Moses said would occur: that the Christ must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light to the people and to the Gentiles.Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen, how the Christ must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles.
For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. Upon his shoulders dominion rests, and this is the name he has been given: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
So if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out there. If they say, ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For just as lightning comes from the east and is visible even in the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; or ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ don’t believe it. For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Therefore, you must also be prepared, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come.
For from the beginning you have heard the message that we should love one another. For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
Amen, amen, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his lord, neither is one who is sent greater than he who sent him.
No prophecy ever came from human initiative. Rather, when people spoke as messengers of God, they did so under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them. They will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over these, the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him one thousand years.
From that day forward Jesus began to proclaim the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.”From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. This is Yahweh’s word to Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says Yahweh of Armies.
Those who accepted his message were baptized, and on that day about three thousand people were added to their number. Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
This is the message that we have heard from him and that we declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness at all in him. This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Indeed, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
You might say to yourself, “How can we know that the Lord did not speak the message?” If what the prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord is not true and it does not happen, then the message was not proclaimed by the Lord. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, you should not fear him.You may say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?” When a prophet speaks in Yahweh’s name, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger who announces peace, who bears good news and proclaims glad tidings, announcing salvation and saying to Zion, “Your God is king.”How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Preach the message; be persistent in doing so, whether in season or out of season; convince, reprove, and encourage, but with great patience and instruction.Preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching.
The heavens proclaim the glory of God; the firmament shows forth the work of his hands. One day imparts that message to the next, and night conveys that knowledge to night. The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork. Day after day they pour out speech, and night after night they display knowledge.
In other words, God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, and not holding people’s transgressions against them, and he committed to us the message of reconciliation.Namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Bible verse of the day

What god can compare with you,
the God who takes away guilt
and forgives the transgressions
of the remnant of your people?
You will not allow your anger to fester forever,
for your delight is in bestowing mercy.
