Bible Verses about 'Messiah'

  • The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
  • Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
  • And every day, in the Temple and from house to house, they continued to teach and preach this message: “Jesus is the Messiah.”
  • This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. I teach nothing except what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and in this way announce God’s light to Jews and Gentiles alike.
  • So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it! For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes.
  • For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
    And he will be called:
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
  • You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.
  • Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years.
