- For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all the day. - From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
- A fool's lips walk into a fight,
and his mouth invites a beating. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. - By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. - I cried to him with my mouth,
and high praise was on my tongue. - But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
- For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
- Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food. - Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life;
he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. - I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - Get wisdom; get insight;
do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. - The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor,
but the lips of a fool consume him. - Put away from you crooked speech,
and put devious talk far from you. - Open your mouth for the mute,
for the rights of all who are destitute. - Open your mouth, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. - So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. - I ate no delicacies, no meat or wine entered my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, for the full three weeks.
- The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
- Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
