- For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all day long. - From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this ought not to be so.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. - A fool's lips bring strife,
and a fool's mouth invites a flogging. - Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. - I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - But he answered, “It is written,
‘One does not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” - Get wisdom; get insight: do not forget, nor turn away
from the words of my mouth. - For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.
- I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
I have treasured in my bosom the words of his mouth. - I had eaten no rich food, no meat or wine had entered my mouth, and I had not anointed myself at all, for the full three weeks.
- I cried aloud to him,
and he was extolled with my tongue. - So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and succeed in the thing for which I sent it. - The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil; for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.
- He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna, with which neither you nor your ancestors were acquainted, in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
- Words spoken by the wise bring them favor,
but the lips of fools consume them. - Put away from you crooked speech,
and put devious talk far from you. - Those who guard their mouths preserve their lives;
those who open wide their lips come to ruin. - This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to act in accordance with all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall be successful.
- Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Speak out, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Speak out for those who cannot speak,
for the rights of all the destitute.
With their mouths the godless would destroy their neighbors,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all offenses.
