My God will light up my darkness. - He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress.
I will not be shaken. - He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress.
I will never be greatly shaken. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer. - Yahweh is my strength and my shield.
My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped.
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices.
With my song I will thank him. - You are my hiding place and my shield.
I hope in your word. - Your word is a lamp to my feet,
and a light for my path. - For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s.

Don’t be silent at my tears.
For I am a stranger with you,
a foreigner, as all my fathers were. - My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
for my expectation is from him. - I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will keep my ordinances and do them.

My groaning is not hidden from you. - When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

Whom shall I fear?
Yahweh is the strength of my life.
Of whom shall I be afraid? - If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
- Behold, God is my helper.
The Lord is the one who sustains my soul. - “Yahweh is my portion,” says my soul.
“Therefore I will hope in him.” - But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. - “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh. - In the multitude of my thoughts within me,
your comforts delight my soul. - In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.
- I will lift up my eyes to the hills.
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from Yahweh,
who made heaven and earth. - For you are my rock and my fortress,
therefore for your name’s sake lead me and guide me. - Listen, my son, and receive my sayings.
The years of your life will be many. - If you love me, keep my commandments.
- I spread out my hands to you.
My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah. - Why are you in despair, my soul?
Why are you disturbed within me?
Hope in God! For I shall still praise him,
the saving help of my countenance, and my God.
