The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom should I be afraid? - If you keep my commandments,
you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love. - As long as I remained silent,
my body wasted away
as the result of my groaning throughout the day. - The Lord is my portion, I say to myself;
therefore, I will place my hope in him. - By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit
and become my disciples. - For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. - But as for me, I will look to the Lord.
I place my hope in God my savior;
my God will hear me. - You are truly my rock and my fortress;
for the sake of your name, lead and guide me. - When my anxious thoughts multiplied,
your comfort filled my soul with joy. - But you, O Lord, are a shield to protect me;
you are my glory and the one who raises my head high. - Surely God is my helper;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - Why are you so disheartened, O my soul?
Why do you sigh within me?
Place your hope in God;
for I will once again praise him,
my Savior and my God. - I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah - Listen, my son, and take my words to heart,
and the years of your life will be multiplied. - If you love me,
you will keep my commandments. - Your statutes are my everlasting heritage;
they are the very joy of my heart. - I lift up my eyes to the mountains;
from where will I receive help?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. - Jesus replied,
“My kingdom does not belong to this world.
If my kingdom did belong to this world,
my followers would have fought
to prevent me from being handed over to the Jews.
The fact is that my kingdom is not here.” - O God, you are my God,
for whom I have been searching earnestly.
My soul yearns for you
and my body thirsts for you,
like the earth when it is parched,
arid and without water. - You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.” - Jesus then said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
- Jesus answered them,
“My teaching is not my own;
rather, it comes from him who sent me.” - The Lord God is my strength;
he makes my feet as swift as those of a deer
and enables me to tread on the heights. - My life is in your hands;
deliver me from the power of my enemies,
from the clutches of those who pursue me. - My son, do not forget my teaching,
but cherish my commandments in your heart,
for they will bring you length of days,
more years of life, and an abundance of prosperity. - Bless the Lord, O my soul;
my entire being, bless his holy name. - O Lord, hear my prayer,
incline your ear to my supplications.
In your faithfulness respond to me
with your righteousness.
