New life (2/4)

  • For, while physical training is of some value, godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
  • Keep your heart with all vigilance,
    for from it flow the springs of life.
  • May my teaching drop like the rain,
    my speech condense like the dew;
    like gentle rain on grass,
    like showers on new growth.
  • Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
    all the days of my life,
    and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
    my whole life long.
  • To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
  • Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
  • Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
    and those who love it will eat its fruits.
  • I will never forget your precepts,
    for by them you have given me life.
  • Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life,
    but one who rejects a rebuke goes astray.
  • For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  • Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  • For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
  • And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
  • Husbands, in the same way, show consideration for your wives in your life together, paying honor to the woman as the weaker sex, since they too are also heirs of the gracious gift of life—so that nothing may hinder your prayers.
  • Just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
  • The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
  • We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.
  • But surely, God is my helper;
    the Lord is the upholder of my life.
  • You show me the path of life.
    In your presence there is fullness of joy;
    in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
  • By day the Lord commands his steadfast love,
    and at night his song is with me,
    a prayer to the God of my life.
  • The Lord is my light and my salvation;
    whom shall I fear?
    The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
    of whom shall I be afraid?
  • Indeed, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
  • For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life?
  • Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

Bible verse of the day

The Lord watches over the strangers;
he upholds the orphan and the widow,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

Do not adorn yourselves outwardly by braiding your hair, and by wearing gold ornaments or fine clothing; rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God's sight.Next verse!With image
