| The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. | He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. |

| Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. | Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. |
| He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.
