- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:
but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. - That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ.
- Blessings are upon the head of the just:
but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. - One thing have I desired of the Lord,
that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord,
and to enquire in his temple. - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
- Blessed is the man
that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
- Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
- What is man, that thou art mindful of him?
and the son of man, that thou visitest him? - Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
- And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
- Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.
- Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
- That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
- Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.
- Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
- He loveth righteousness and judgment:
the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. - O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
- Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
- The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- But I will sing of thy power;
yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning:
for thou hast been my defence
and refuge in the day of my trouble.
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.Who is this King of glory?
