A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.
Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.
One's pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination. The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it a wall too high to scale.

For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
