Proverbs 3:5 (2/6)

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death.
Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.
The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.The name of the righteous is used in blessings, but the name of the wicked will rot.
The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.
He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.
He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.
He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool.
In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.
The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.
The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.
The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless, but it is the ruin of those who do evil.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.The lips of the righteous know what finds favor, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.
When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.
Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors, but through knowledge the righteous escape.
A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.
The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.
A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.
Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy.
Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.

The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor.
