- A fool's wrath is presently known:
but a prudent man covereth shame. - House and riches are the inheritance of fathers:
and a prudent wife is from the Lord. - A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself;
but the simple pass on, and are punished. - A fool despiseth his father's instruction:
but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. - In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin:
but he that refraineth his lips is wise. - Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
- Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise:
and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.Next verse!With image
