- Fools show their anger at once,
but the prudent ignore an insult. - House and wealth are inherited from parents,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord. - The clever see danger and hide;
but the simple go on, and suffer for it. - A fool despises a parent's instruction,
but the one who heeds admonition is prudent. - When words are many, transgression is not lacking,
but the prudent are restrained in speech. - Those who are wise understand these things;
those who are discerning know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right,
and the upright walk in them,
but transgressors stumble in them. - Even fools who keep silent are considered wise;
when they close their lips, they are deemed intelligent.
For what human being knows what is truly human except the human spirit that is within? So also no one comprehends what is truly God's except the Spirit of God.
