- For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall never be shaken. - For God alone my soul waits in silence,
for my hope is from him. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken. - On God rests my deliverance and my honor;
my mighty rock, my refuge is in God. - And steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord.
For you repay to all
according to their work. - O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. - Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands and call on your name. - For you, O God, have tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried. - I cried aloud to him,
and he was extolled with my tongue. - May God continue to bless us;
let all the ends of the earth revere him. - Sing to God, sing praises to his name;
lift up a song to him who rides upon the clouds —
his name is the Lord—
be exultant before him.
Father of orphans and protector of widows
is God in his holy habitation. - God gives the desolate a home to live in;
he leads out the prisoners to prosperity,
but the rebellious live in a parched land. - Blessed be the Lord,
who daily bears us up;
God is our salvation. Selah - My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all day long. - My lips will shout for joy
when I sing praises to you;
my soul also, which you have rescued. - Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire other than you. - My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. - Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us, and forgive our sins,
for your name's sake. - Restore us, O Lord God of hosts;
let your face shine, that we may be saved. - Give justice to the weak and the orphan;
maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute. - For a day in your courts is better
than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than live in the tents of wickedness. - For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you. - Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart to revere your name. - Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
For a thousand years in your sight
are like yesterday when it is past,
or like a watch in the night.See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
