| There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. | There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. |
| Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. | Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. |

| Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” | He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. | But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. | And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. |
| May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands. | And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it. |
| Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do. | Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. | They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. | And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. |
| Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. | Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. |
| I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. | For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. |
| May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you. | Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. |
| So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. | Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. |
| In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. | I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. |
| And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ | And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. |
| So that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed. | That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. |
| Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord. | Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord. |
| The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters. | The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. |
| Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. | Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. |
| The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. | The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. |
| Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. | Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. |
