Bible Verses about 'Sacrifice'

  • To do righteousness and justice
    Is preferred by the Lord more than sacrifice.
  • And walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
  • Now go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
  • But I will sacrifice to You
    With a voice of thanksgiving.
    That which I have vowed I will pay.
    Salvation is from the Lord.
  • Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
  • The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
    A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.
  • And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
  • In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
  • So Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.
  • Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.
  • And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.
  • Therefore, concerning the eating of food sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing at all in the world, and that there is no God but one.
  • For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, this is the one who will save it.
  • For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
  • Who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds.
  • For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
  • And they stripped Him and put a red cloak on Him. And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and put a reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
  • He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
  • How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
  • In the morning, Lord, You will hear my voice;
    In the morning I will present my prayer to You and be on the watch.
  • Honor the Lord from your wealth,
    And from the first of all your produce.
  • For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
  • And do not go on presenting the parts of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and your body’s parts as instruments of righteousness for God.
  • Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
  • And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup, which is poured out for you, is the new covenant in My blood.”

But if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
