- The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous man runs into it and is safe. - The fear of man lays a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. - In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. - Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
- Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. - As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain your mercy from me;
your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me! - The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
- Ponder the path of your feet;
then all your ways will be sure. - For the Lord loves justice;
he will not forsake his saints.
They are preserved forever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. - Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil.
- I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.
- So we fasted and implored our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.
- Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. - But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
- A rich man's wealth is his strong city,
and like a high wall in his imagination. - This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. - But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress. - I love you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
