- In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. - He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.” - But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
- The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. - God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble. - You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah - The Lord is good,
a stronghold in the day of trouble;
he knows those who take refuge in him. - Cast your burden on the Lord,
and he will sustain you;
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved. - He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. - The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it. - You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you. - I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.
- The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands. - So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
- It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in man. - The fear of man lays a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. - For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.
- The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous man runs into it and is safe. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. - A rich man's wealth is his strong city,
and like a high wall in his imagination. - Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. - This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. - The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble. - Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident.
But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress.Know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.Next verse!With image
