- In peace I lie down and sleep,
for only with your help, O Lord,
can I rest secure. - Anyone who leads an honorable life walks in safety,
but whoever pursues wicked ways will be found out. - You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.” - However, the Lord is faithful. He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

of whom should I be afraid? - The way of God is blameless,

you preserve me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah - The Lord is good,
an unfailing refuge in a time of distress.
He takes care of those who place their trust in him. - Entrust your cares to the Lord,
and he will uphold you;
he will never allow the righteous to waver. - With his feathers he will shelter you,
and you will take refuge under his wings;
his faithfulness serves as a protective shield. - The prudent man perceives danger and seeks shelter,
while the simple continue forward and pay the penalty. - O Lord, you grant peace to those who are steadfast
because of their trust in you. - I am not asking you
to take them out of the world,
but I do ask you
to protect them from the evil one. - The Lord will fulfill his plan for me.
Your kindness, O Lord, endures forever;
do not forsake the work of your hands. - So we must not fall asleep as the others do, but we must stay alert and sober.
- It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to place your trust in mortals. - The fear of others will prove to be a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is secure. - For I will provide the weary with all they need, and I will restore the strength of all those who have grown faint with hunger.
- The name of the Lord is a tower of strength;
the upright man runs to it and finds refuge. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress, so that I stand ever unshaken. - The wealth of a rich man is his stronghold;
he regards it as a high wall that cannot be scaled. - Put your trust in the Lord and do good,
that you may dwell in the land and be secure. - Even if an army encamps against me,
my heart will not succumb to fear;
even if war breaks out against me,
I will not have my trust shaken. - The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of distress. - But I will sing of your strength;
when morning dawns, I will proclaim your kindness.
For you have been my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble. - Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength.
- I love you, O Lord, my strength,
O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
My God is my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold. - Hence, be subject to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed;
save me, and I will be saved;
you are the one whom I praise. - Sing to God, sing praise to his name;
exalt him who rides upon the clouds.
Rejoice in the presence of this God
whose name is the Lord.
