Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.” | Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.” |
A fool rejects his father’s discipline, But he who complies with rebuke is sensible. | A fool spurns a parent’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence. |

But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him? | If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? |
For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. | These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. |
