and the father of lies. - Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he departed from them and was taken up to heaven.
- Therefore, when someone is guilty of any one of these things, he shall confess the sin he has committed.

to those who did not consult me.
I was anxious to be approached
by those who did not seek me.
I said, “Here I am! Here I am!”
to a nation that did not summon me. - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and barren, and darkness covered the abyss while the Spirit of God hovered over the waters.
- Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
- He was despised and shunned by others,
a man of sorrows who was no stranger to suffering.
We loathed him and regarded him as of no account,
as one from whom men avert their gaze. - When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, for God has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill the vow you have made.
- As for you, my child, take strength from the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
- Jesus answered them,
“My teaching is not my own;
rather, it comes from him who sent me.” - Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you and utter all kinds of calumnies against you for my sake.
- God’s love was revealed to us in this way:
God sent his only-begotten Son into the world
so that we might have life through him.
