- The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. - Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
- The memory of the righteous is blessed,
But the name of the wicked will rot. - The Lord watches over the strangers;
He relieves the fatherless and widow;
But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. - By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. - Defend the poor and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and needy. - The hope of the righteous will be gladness,
But the expectation of the wicked will perish. - “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
The heart of the wicked is worth little. - Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
- Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. - The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
- Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
- Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
- The vine has dried up,
And the fig tree has withered;
The pomegranate tree,
The palm tree also,
And the apple tree—
All the trees of the field are withered;
Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men. - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
- The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. - I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living. - Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful. - And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
