- Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
- I will rejoice and be jubilant in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. - With all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me wander from Your commandments. - I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders. - Can a woman forget her nursing child
And have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.
Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me. - “For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake,
But My favor will not be removed from you,
Nor will My covenant of peace be shaken,”
Says the Lord who has compassion on you. - I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have nothing good besides You.” - Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God.
- But now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
- At night my soul longs for You,
Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently;
For when the earth experiences Your judgments,
The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. - In You, Lord, I have taken refuge;
Let me never be put to shame;
In Your righteousness rescue me. - My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You;
And my soul, which You have redeemed. - “No weapon that is formed against you will succeed;
And you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord. - As they had their pasture, they became satisfied,
And as they became satisfied, their heart became proud;
Therefore they forgot Me. - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
- And faithfulness is Yours, Lord,
For You reward a person according to his work. - Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.
- I will give thanks to You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments. - Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
For You I wait all the day. - For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
- Then, when they had fasted, prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
- And tongues that looked like fire appeared to them, distributing themselves, and a tongue rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out.
- Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;
He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. - For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all who call upon You.
