Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. | The afflictions of the righteous are many, But the Lord rescues him from them all. |
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. | And the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them. |
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. | The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him. |
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. | Those who love Your Law have great peace, And nothing causes them to stumble. |
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. | But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing His garments among themselves. |
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. | For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. |
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. | Do not participate in the useless deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. |
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. | Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. |
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. | One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper, But one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion. |

O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! | If only they had such a heart in them, to fear Me and keep all My commandments always, so that it would go well with them and with their sons forever! |
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. | These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. |
Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets. | And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and, looking up to heaven, He blessed them and broke them, and gave them to the disciples again and again, to serve the crowd. The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. | The face of the Lord is against evildoers, To eliminate the memory of them from the earth. |
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. | So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be to you; just as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” |
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. | Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” |
Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. | Hate evil, you who love the Lord, Who watches over the souls of His godly ones; He saves them from the hand of the wicked. |
The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. | The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears And rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit. |
