And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. | Thus there are three things that endure: faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love. |
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. | No, throughout all these things we are conquerors because of him who loved us. |

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? |

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! | The one who gives this testimony says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! |
And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing. | Therefore, when someone is guilty of any one of these things, he shall confess the sin he has committed. |
And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. | The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. |
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. | Rather, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. |
Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?” For you do not inquire wisely concerning this. | Do not assert that the past was better than the present, for such a statement is not a sign of wisdom. |
Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? | Can anyone withhold the water of baptism from these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? |
Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. | Everyone who hears these words of mine and acts in accordance with them will be like a wise man who constructed his house on a rock foundation. |
And the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day. | The Lord commanded us to observe all of these statutes and to fear the Lord, our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, even as we are today. |
Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. | Out of the same mouth flow blessings and curses. This should not be so, my brethren. |
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. | Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from anything that can defile flesh or spirit, and thereby make our holiness perfect in the fear of God. |
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. | All of these were constantly engaged in prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. |
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. | I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. |

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. | Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. |
Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right; The righteous walk in them, But transgressors stumble in them. | Let those who are wise understand these words, and let the prudent acknowledge them. For straight are the ways of the Lord; the upright walk in them, but sinners stumble. |
How they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. | For they said to you, “In the final age there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly passions.” It is these people who create divisions, who follow their natural instincts and do not possess the Spirit. |
Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. | After he said this, he was lifted up as they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight. |
But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. | All you need to do is to say ‘Yes’ if you mean ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ if you mean ‘No.’ Anything beyond this comes from the evil one. |
