| This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. | This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. |
| Don’t say, “Why were the former days better than these?” For you do not ask wisely about this. | Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this. |
