- And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. - Give us this day our daily bread.

if you love one another. - This is the commandment
we have received from him:
whoever loves God
must also love his brother. - By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit
and become my disciples. - Above his head was inscribed the charge against him: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”
- Sing praise to the Lord for his mighty deeds;
let this be known throughout the entire world. - And eternal life is this:
to know you,
the only true God,
and the one you have sent,
Jesus Christ. - While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after he had pronounced the blessing, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take this and eat; this is my body.”
- All this knowledge comes from the Lord of hosts
whose counsel is wonderful
and whose wisdom is great. - In everything, deal with others as you would like them to deal with you. This is the Law and the Prophets.
- Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.
- This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
- This is how we can be certain
that we abide in him
and that he abides in us:
he has given us a share in his Spirit. - This is the message
that we have heard from him
and that we declare to you:
God is light,
and there is no darkness at all in him. - The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
- Jesus looked at them and said, “For men this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
- And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be poured out for you.”
- Therefore, we fasted and prayed to God to grant us a safe journey, and he answered our prayer.
- This is what love is:
not that we have loved God,
but that he loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. - Come to your senses and sin no more. For some of you have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- This is the end of my teaching.
All has been heard.
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for that is the responsibility of everyone. - Remember this: if you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly, and if you sow generously, you will reap generously as well.
- But do not ignore this one fact, beloved: with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
- Rejoice always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
- For from the beginning
you have heard the message
that we should love one another. - And I say to you: You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld will not prevail against it.
- Then I came to realize that all toil and skill in work derive from one person’s envy of another. This also is vanity and a chase after the wind.
- No one can have greater love
than to lay down his life for his friends. - For everyone born of God
conquers the world.
And the victory that conquers the world
is our faith. - One who is covetous will never be satisfied with money,
nor will the lover of wealth be content with gain.
This too is vanity. - This is
‘the stone rejected by you, the builders,
that has become the cornerstone.’ - For I know that through your prayers and with the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will result in deliverance for me.
- God’s love was revealed to us in this way:
God sent his only-begotten Son into the world
so that we might have life through him. - To these God chose to make known how rich is the priceless glory that this mystery brings to the Gentiles—Christ in you, your hope of glory.
- Go and learn what this text means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.
- I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.
- When Jesus heard this, he said, “Do not be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be saved.”
- In my anguish I cried out;
the Lord heard my plea,
and I was saved from all my troubles. - I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
Whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh, for the life of the world. - This is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.’ - For this day in the city of David there has been born to you a Savior who is Christ, the Lord.
- Out of the same mouth flow blessings and curses. This should not be so, my brethren.
