This (2/4)

  • Therefore, we fasted and prayed to God to grant us a safe journey, and he answered our prayer.
  • This is what love is:
not that we have loved God,
    but that he loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.
  • Come to your senses and sin no more. For some of you have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
  • This is the end of my teaching.
    All has been heard.
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for that is the responsibility of everyone.
  • Remember this: if you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly, and if you sow generously, you will reap generously as well.
  • But do not ignore this one fact, beloved: with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
  • Rejoice always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
  • For from the beginning
    you have heard the message
that we should love one another.
  • And I say to you: You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld will not prevail against it.
  • Then I came to realize that all toil and skill in work derive from one person’s envy of another. This also is vanity and a chase after the wind.
  • No one can have greater love
than to lay down his life for his friends.

    conquers the world.
And the victory that conquers the world
    is our faith.

    This too is vanity.
  • This is
‘the stone rejected by you, the builders,
    that has become the cornerstone.’
  • For I know that through your prayers and with the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will result in deliverance for me.
  • God’s love was revealed to us in this way:
God sent his only-begotten Son into the world
so that we might have life through him.
  • To these God chose to make known how rich is the priceless glory that this mystery brings to the Gentiles—Christ in you, your hope of glory.
  • Go and learn what this text means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.
  • I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.
  • When Jesus heard this, he said, “Do not be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be saved.”
  • In my anguish I cried out;
    the Lord heard my plea,
and I was saved from all my troubles.
  • I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
    Whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh, for the life of the world.
  • This is how you should pray:
    ‘Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name.
    Your kingdom come.
    Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.’
  • For this day in the city of David there has been born to you a Savior who is Christ, the Lord.
  • Out of the same mouth flow blessings and curses. This should not be so, my brethren.

Remember this, my beloved brethren: everyone should be quick to listen but slow to speak and slow to anger.
