- And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

whose wisdom is magnificent. - So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
- This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.
- “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind. - But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

- This, then, is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.’ - All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
