- And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
- This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.
- This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it. - He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
- For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
- Give us today the food we need.
- Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”
- And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”
- And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.
- When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
- This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
- A sign was fastened above Jesus’ head, announcing the charge against him. It read: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”
- Don’t long for “the good old days.”
This is not wise. - Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do.
- And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
- As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.”
- I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.
- Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.
- Who is the King of glory?
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—
he is the King of glory. - This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
- This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
- “Abba, Father,” he cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
- For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
- That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
- Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.
