- Remember this, my beloved brethren: everyone should be quick to listen but slow to speak and slow to anger.

- This is how we know what love is:

a man shall leave his father and mother

- Jesus answered them, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to this fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be accomplished.”
- Let your attitude be identical to that of Christ Jesus.
- All you need to do is to say ‘Yes’ if you mean ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ if you mean ‘No.’ Anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
- This saying can be trusted:
If we have died with him,
we shall also live with him. - And said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. For the one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest.”
- When Jesus heard this, he said, “It is not the healthy who need a physician, but rather those who are sick.”
- The one who calls you is faithful, and he will accomplish this.
- This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God:
every spirit that acknowledges
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh
is from God,
and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus
is not from God.
This is the spirit of the Antichrist,
about whose coming you have been told,
and that it is already in the world. - This rather is the type of fast that I wish:
to loosen the fetters of injustice,
to undo the thongs of the yoke,
to set free those who are oppressed
and to break every yoke. - Do not assert that the past was better than the present,
for such a statement is not a sign of wisdom. - This, in fact, is what you have been called to do, because Christ himself suffered for you and left an example for you to follow in his footsteps.
- While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud cast a shadow over them. Then a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
- What I commanded them was this: Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. If you follow all the ways that I command you, then you will prosper.
- After he said this, he was lifted up as they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight.
- Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
- And thus we can have confidence in him
that if we ask anything
that is in accordance with his will,
he hears us. - “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and every other commandment are all summed up in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and undefiled is this: to come to the aid of orphans and widows in their hardships and to keep oneself untarnished by the world.
- On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
- All this has been done by God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation.
