- The law of the Lord is perfect,
converting the soul:
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple. - And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
- That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love.
- Blessed are the pure in heart:
for they shall see God. - Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
- So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
- Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
- My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God:
when shall I come and appear before God? - Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
- God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
- But our God is in the heavens:
he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
- Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble. - Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
- For who is God save the Lord?
or who is a rock save our God? - Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men. - Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me. - Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
- For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
- For who is God, save the Lord?
and who is a rock, save our God? - Although the fig tree shall not blossom,
neither shall fruit be in the vines;
the labour of the olive shall fail,
and the fields shall yield no meat;
the flock shall be cut off from the fold,
and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation. - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
- For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.
I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,
than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. - Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.
