- Just so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
- Happy are those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path that sinners tread,
or sit in the seat of scoffers. - Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long. - Do not love the world or the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in those who love the world.
- So God created humankind in his image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - Little children, you are from God, and have conquered them; for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
- He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and light dwells with him. - Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord. - But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
- And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. - For a day in your courts is better
than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than live in the tents of wickedness. - Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its fruits. - And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- Give justice to the weak and the orphan;
maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute. - Save us, we beseech you, O Lord!
O Lord, we beseech you, give us success!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
We bless you from the house of the Lord. - Look at the proud!
Their spirit is not right in them,
but the righteous live by their faith. - I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
- And saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.”
- This God—his way is perfect;
the promise of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all who take refuge in him. - Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
- For all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, the pride in riches—comes not from the Father but from the world.
- I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
- Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly.
- Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my thoughts.
See if there is any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
