| Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. | Beloved, since God loved us so much, we should love one another. |
| According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me. | When I fed them, they were satisfied; when they were satisfied, they became proud of heart and quickly forgot me. |

| For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. | For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tested in every respect as we are, but without sinning. |
| For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. | For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall also be united with him in his resurrection. | Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. | O Lord, let your kindness rest upon us, for we have placed our hope in you. |
| But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. | However, if we live in the light as he himself is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son purifies us from all sin. |
| Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. | In the same way, even the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs that cannot be put into words. |
| For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. | For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for a life of good works that God had prepared for us to do. |
| Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. | Therefore, he has the full power to save those who approach God through him, since he lives forever to intercede for them. |

All things belong to you, and everything that we have given you is from your hand. |
| We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments. | We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws. |
| So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. | Teach us to comprehend how few our days are so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom. |
| But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. | For us there is one God, the Father, from whom all things are and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and through whom we exist. |
| For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. | For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another. |
| Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God. | Yet even so, because of your great compassion, you did not completely destroy them, nor did you forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God. |
| For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. | At the appointed time, while we were still helpless, Christ died for the ungodly. |
| The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. | The Spirit himself bears witness with our Spirit that we are children of God. |
| My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass. | Let my teaching fall down like rain, and my words descend like the dew. Like rain upon the sprouts, and like showers upon the grass. |
| For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. | For it is in him that the entire fullness of deity dwells in bodily form, and you share this fullness in him who is the head of every ruler and power. |
| What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? | What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
| For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. | For we are God’s coworkers; you are God’s field, God’s building. |
| Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. | No, throughout all these things we are conquerors because of him who loved us. |
| As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. | Like newborn infants, long for pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may advance on the path to salvation. |
