So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?” | So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. |
So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. | For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. |

But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. | For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. |
In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and your renown are the soul's desire. | Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. |
No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us. | No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. |
And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him. | And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. |
See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. | Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. |
For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died. | For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. |
Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. | Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. |
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. | This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. |
The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also. | And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. |
In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. | Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. |
If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. | If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. | For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. |
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved. | Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. |
So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith. | As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. |
In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures. | Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. |
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. | And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. |
And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. | And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope. |
Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? | Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? |

Surely he has borne our infirmities and carried our diseases; yet we accounted him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted. | Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. |
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace. | In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. |
So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. | And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. |
The Almighty —we cannot find him; he is great in power and justice, and abundant righteousness he will not violate. | Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. |
