| What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” | What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! | What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? | What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? |
| What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar. | What is desired in a man is kindness, And a poor man is better than a liar. |

| See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. | Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. |
| And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. | Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. |
| Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops. | Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops. |
| As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. | While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. |
| Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you. | Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. |

Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’? |
| And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. | But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. |
| Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. | Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. |
| But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. | But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You. |
| But I with the voice of thanksgiving will sacrifice to you; what I have vowed I will pay. Salvation belongs to the Lord! | But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord. |
| For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. | For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. |
| Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed. | Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor. |
