Bible Verses about 'What'
- Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
- Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. - For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
- He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God? - The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
- Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
- What is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him? - For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.
- Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
- For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?
- Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
- What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
- Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
- What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
- In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me? - So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?” - Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.
- He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him. - And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
- But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
- Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?
- And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
- But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.
- I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
- But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
- Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father.
- Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
- What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
- Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.
- But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him” - When goods increase, they increase who eat them, and what advantage has their owner but to see them with his eyes?
- What is desired in a man is steadfast love,
and a poor man is better than a liar. - What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
- But test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
- And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
- Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
- To you, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
for you have made known to us the king's matter. - But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
- See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
- Woe to him who strives with him who formed him,
a pot among earthen pots!
Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’
or ‘Your work has no handles’? - For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
- Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.
- And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
- When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.
- But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
- Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
- But I with the voice of thanksgiving
will sacrifice to you;
what I have vowed I will pay.
Salvation belongs to the Lord!
