Bible Verses about 'What'
- Let love be genuine; hate what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
- Abba, Father, for you all things are possible; remove this cup from me, yet not what I want but what you want.
- He has told you, O mortal, what is good,
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice and to love kindness
and to walk humbly with your God? - For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life?
- With the Lord on my side I do not fear.
What can mortals do to me? - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. - Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
- What are humans that you are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them? - Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
- Do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food and the body more than clothing.
- For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
- For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life?
- Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and lawlessness have in common? Or what partnership is there between light and darkness?
- What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
- Keep awake, therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
- In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I am not afraid;
what can flesh do to me? - What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
- So we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?” - So that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may perceive what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints.
- He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and light dwells with him. - If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
- Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his clothing.
- But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
- Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good?
- Because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen, for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
- What then are we to say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet, if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
- Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous but sinners.
- I am coming soon; hold fast to what you have, so that no one takes away your crown.
- Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.
- When goods increase, those who eat them increase, and what gain has their owner but to see them with his eyes?
- Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you will abide in the Son and in the Father.
- He replied, “What is impossible for mortals is possible for God.”
- What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may increase? By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it?
- To you, O God of my ancestors,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and power
and have now revealed to me what we asked of you,
for you have revealed to us what the king ordered. - And God, who searches hearts, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
- What is desirable in a person is loyalty,
and it is better to be poor than a liar. - See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God, and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
- But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the human heart conceived,
what God has prepared for those who love him” - But as for you, teach what is consistent with sound instruction.
- But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- But test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil.
- What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
- For what human knows what is truly human except the human spirit that is within? So also no one comprehends what is truly God’s except the Spirit of God.
- Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart, for consider what great things he has done for you.
- Woe to those who strive with their Maker,
earthen vessels with the potter!
Does the clay say to the one who fashions it, “What are you making”?
or “Your work has no handles”? - Be on your guard, so that you do not lose what we have worked for but may receive a full reward.
- When they bring you to trial and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you who speak but the Holy Spirit.
- Therefore whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed from the housetops.
- But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated.
- So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.
