| Who will repay each person according to his deeds. | Who “will render to each one according to his deeds” |
| So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place, as to whether the Christ was to suffer, and whether, as first from the resurrection of the dead, He would proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles. | Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come— that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles. |
| Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen. | Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. |
| So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. | So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. |
| But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God. | But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God. |
| This is what the Lord says: “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; Then you will find a resting place for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’” | Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’” |
| But if the wicked person turns from all his sins which he has committed and keeps all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall certainly live; he shall not die. | But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. |
