Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise. When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning.
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.When the Counselor has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.
On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”When Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.”
My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.With my soul I have desired you in the night. Yes, with my spirit within me I will seek you earnestly; for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.I will give thanks to you with uprightness of heart, when I learn your righteous judgments.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside.But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out like gold. My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way, and not turned away.
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”.Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw near, when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them.”
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.
But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
But when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”But they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out; for they all saw him and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them and said to them, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”
When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.God, having raised up his servant Jesus, sent him to you first to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your wickedness.
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.For a thousand years in your sight are just like yesterday when it is past, like a watch in the night.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; yes, God has made the one side by side with the other, to the end that man should not find out anything after him.
Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”But Jesus hearing it, answered him, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed.”
But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come.
As goods increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit are they to the owners except to feast their eyes on them?When goods increase, those who eat them are increased; and what advantage is there to its owner, except to feast on them with his eyes?
After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.

After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.Yahweh restored Job’s prosperity when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before.
