He who guards his mouth makes his life secure, but one who talks excessively ensures his own downfall.Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.
For they said to you, “In the final age there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly passions.” It is these people who create divisions, who follow their natural instincts and do not possess the Spirit.They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my heavenly Father.Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Wait quietly for the Lord and be patient until he comes. Do not fret over the man who prospers because of his evil schemes.Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
Give proper consideration to those widows who are truly in need.Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need.
He said to them in reply, “Anyone who has two coats must share with the person who has none, and whoever has food must do likewise.”John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”
Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but those who counsel peace have joy.Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy.
It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior, one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city.Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.
For God will repay everyone in accordance with what his deeds deserve.God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”
Blessed are those who observe his statutes and seek him with their whole heart.Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.
The one who pays heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.
When Jesus heard this, he said, “It is not the healthy who need a physician, but rather those who are sick.”On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
I can do all things in him who strengthens me.I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near through the blood of Christ.But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Those who live according to the flesh can never be pleasing to God.Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
And now it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
To those who seek after glory and honor and immortality by persevering in good works, he will grant eternal life.To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
Dear children, you are from God and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
However, to those who did accept him and who believed in his name he granted the power to become children of God.Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it.Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
Bless those who persecute you; bless them and do not curse them.Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
The future bodes well for him who is generous in helping those in need and who conducts his affairs with justice.Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.
I then heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me!”Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
