- But “he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
- For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
But counselors of peace have joy. - Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
“Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?”
Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” - Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
- For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
- I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
- But who am I, and who are my people,
That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You. - And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
- He who covers a transgression seeks love,
But he who repeats a matter separates friends. - But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
- He who heeds the word wisely will find good,
And whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he. - Who has performed and done it,
Calling the generations from the beginning?
‘I, the Lord, am the first;
And with the last I am He.’ - He who keeps instruction is in the way of life,
But he who refuses correction goes astray. - Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
- He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul,
But he who is careless of his ways will die. - But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
- Because I delivered the poor who cried out,
The fatherless and the one who had no helper.
The blessing of a perishing man came upon me,
And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. - He who is slow to wrath has great understanding,
But he who is impulsive exalts folly. - I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
- Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die. - Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the Lord. - Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
- He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
- Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
