| And whoever does not provide for relatives, especially for those who are living with him, has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. | But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. |
| No one who conceals his transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy. | He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. |
| If anyone is rich in worldly possessions and sees a brother in need but refuses to open his heart, how can the love of God abide in him? | But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him? |

| If someone says, “I love God,” but at the same time hates his brother, he is a liar. For whoever does not love the brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. | If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? |
| And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. | He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me isn’t worthy of me. |

| Remember this: if you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly, and if you sow generously, you will reap generously as well. | Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. |
| He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” | He called the multitude to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” |
| I am the gate. Anyone who enters through me will be saved. He will go in and out and will find pasture. | I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out and will find pasture. |
| One who forgives a misdeed fosters friendship, but he who divulges it separates good friends. | He who covers an offense promotes love; but he who repeats a matter separates best friends. |

| One who finds a wife finds happiness and receives favor from the Lord. | Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh. |
| A generous person will be enriched; he who refreshes others will also be refreshed. | The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself. |
