- The father of a good man will rejoice;
he who begets a wise son will delight in him. - Wealth hastily acquired will dwindle away,
but when amassed little by little, it will increase. - To him all the Prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins through his name.
- For everyone born of God
conquers the world.
And the victory that conquers the world
is our faith. - Everyone who hears these words of mine and acts in accordance with them will be like a wise man who constructed his house on a rock foundation.
- One who is covetous will never be satisfied with money,
nor will the lover of wealth be content with gain.
This too is vanity. - Bear with one another, and forgive one another if anyone has reason to be offended with another. You must forgive just as the Lord has forgiven you.
- The one who sows in his flesh will reap a harvest of corruption, but the one who sows in the Spirit will reap from the Spirit the reward of eternal life.

seek peace and pursue it.” - You have heard that it was said of old: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that anyone who looks with lust at a woman has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
- A highway will be there
that will be called the Way of Holiness.
No one who is unclean may pass over it;
it will serve as a path for pilgrims
and no fool will be able to use it. - Beloved,
let us love one another,
because love is from God.
Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - One who gossips reveals secrets,
but a trustworthy man keeps things hidden. - It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior,
one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city. - Then he said to all who were with him, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
- Owe nothing to anyone except the debt of love you owe one another. The one who loves others has fulfilled the Law.
- All those who keep his commandments abide in him,
and he abides in them.
And the proof that he abides in us
is the Spirit that he has given us. - Flee from sexual immorality! Every other sin that a person commits is outside the body, but the fornicator sins against his own body.
- Therefore, a Sabbath rest still remains for the people of God, since those who enter into God’s rest also cease from their own labors as God did from his.
- You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.” - However, the one who looks intently at the perfect law of freedom and perseveres—not forgetting what he has heard but putting it into practice—will be blessed in everything he does.
- Everyone who sins comes from the devil,
for the devil has been a sinner
from the very beginning.
The Son of God appeared for this very purpose:
to destroy the work of the devil.
