Praise the Lord in song, for He has done glorious things; Let this be known throughout the earth. | Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. |
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. | These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. |
I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then could I look at a virgin? | I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? |
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. | Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. |
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. | For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
And it happened that He was passing through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples began to make their way along while picking the heads of grain. The Pharisees were saying to Him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” And He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions became hungry; how he entered the house of God in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the consecrated bread, which is not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests, and he also gave it to those who were with him?” Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord, even of the Sabbath.” | And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. |
Do not participate in the useless deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. | And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. |
But as for you, proclaim the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. | But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine. |
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. | But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. |
And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. | And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. |
So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place, as to whether the Christ was to suffer, and whether, as first from the resurrection of the dead, He would proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles. | Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. |
I, I Myself, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of mortal man, And of a son of man who is made like grass. | I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass. |
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? | He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? |
But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. | But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. |
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all that I said to you. | But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. |
From the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, these things should not be this way. | Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. |
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. | Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. |
But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” | And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. |
But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given to You. | But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. |
Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; Whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, And the righteous will walk in them, But wrongdoers will stumble in them. | Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein. |
In addition to all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. | And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. |
Now if a person sins and does any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, though he was unaware, he is still guilty and shall bear his punishment. | And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity. |
For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing. | For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. |
These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. | These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. |
And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight. | And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. |
Bible verse of the day
Behold, as for the impudent one,His soul is not right within him;
But the righteous one will live by his faith.
