For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this. - Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Your speech must always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
- Do not weary yourself to gain wealth;
Stop dwelling on it. - Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your body
And refreshment to your bones. - For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
- The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. - For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age.
