Bible Verses about 'Wisdom'
- The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have, get understanding. - When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom. - Blessed are those who find wisdom,
those who gain understanding. - Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom. - For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - Get wisdom, get understanding;
do not forget my words or turn away from them. - For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;
the more knowledge, the more grief. - How much better to get wisdom than gold,
to get insight rather than silver! - I instruct you in the way of wisdom
and lead you along straight paths. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. - The one who gets wisdom loves life;
the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - Where there is strife, there is pride,
but wisdom is found in those who take advice. - All this also comes from the Lord Almighty,
whose plan is wonderful,
whose wisdom is magnificent. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise. - If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
- Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
- Know also that wisdom is like honey for you:
If you find it, there is a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off. - Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out! - Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord,
and humility comes before honor. - I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
- But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
- I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king. - Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
- He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless. - Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?”
For it is not wise to ask such questions. - Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
- Do not wear yourself out to get rich;
do not trust your own cleverness. - Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones. - For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
- For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.
- The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Next verse!With image
