- The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever you get, get insight. - When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with the humble is wisdom. - Blessed is the one who finds wisdom,
and the one who gets understanding. - So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom. - For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - Get wisdom; get insight;
do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. - I have taught you the way of wisdom;
I have led you in the paths of uprightness. - For in much wisdom is much vexation,
and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow. - By insolence comes nothing but strife,
but with those who take advice is wisdom. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. - How much better to get wisdom than gold!
To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. - The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom,
and humility comes before honor. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. - This also comes from the Lord of hosts;
he is wonderful in counsel
and excellent in wisdom. - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever! - Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
- Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, there will be a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - Whoever gets sense loves his own soul;
he who keeps understanding will discover good. - Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
- That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him.
- But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
- To you, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
for you have made known to us the king's matter. - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken. O God, you are my God;
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.Next verse!With image
