- But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head. - By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
- Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
- If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.
- And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.)
- For you are my rock and my fortress;
and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me. - Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
- A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. - And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
- For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
- What is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him? - And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
- Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long. - Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
- Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed;
save me, and I shall be saved,
for you are my praise. - You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.
- For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
- For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.
- Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
- You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
- Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God. - Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! - I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
- And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
