- Do not envy the oppressor,
And choose none of his ways;
For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord,
But His secret counsel is with the upright. - Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

The power and the glory,

Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all. - What is desired in a man is kindness,
And a poor man is better than a liar. - Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
Blessed are all those who wait for Him. - Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.
- And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”
- “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
- Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
But a prudent wife is from the Lord. - When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
- Since you were precious in My sight,
You have been honored,
And I have loved you;
Therefore I will give men for you,
And people for your life. - Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it. - Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
Equity and every good path. - Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him. - How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!” - You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
- As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. - So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.
- Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
- Seek good and not evil,
That you may live;
So the Lord God of hosts will be with you,
As you have spoken. - Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
- And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
- For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
